Patricia Janečková

Too busy this week to do much blogging, but here is a treat for you: very young soprano Patricia Janečková singing an aria from Le nozze de Figaro by Mozart: "Voi che sapete" followed by "Ach, Ich Fühl's" from "Die Zauberflöte"

For a classical singer, she is very young, still only eighteen.

Such a refreshingly young and talented soprano!

I've just come across this soprano and think she's absolutely wonderful. I can't understand why she isn't performing in proper operatic productions. Can anyone shed some light on this? Have I just not found them? I've Googled her a little and her management seems to be a very small outfit. Surely they should be guiding her to things other than concert performances?!

I think that she is still in the very early part of her career. A lot of voice teachers don't like to push a young voice too much until it has matured. There seem to be several concert performances on YouTube. But she may not be up to full opera yet. Plus, opera and concerts generally are largely in abeyance until the plague is past.

According to her facebook posts and pictures she is doing Opera performances, not just concerts. But only in local theaters of the Czech Republic. She said she did also musical version of Romeo and Juliet, but she says musical or rock pop music is not the right for her type of voice.
