The problem is not simply the notoriety of Pharrell Williams. Name the composer equivalent to Beethoven or Stravinsky or even Prokofiev who labored in relative unheralded obscurity in 2014 concert halls.
Ask me in one hundred years! But I might vote for Steve Reich.
