Today is "Rabid Serial Composers' Day"

Sadly, because I was really looking forward to it, they unexpectedly cancelled the "Trans Day of Vengeance". The only suitable replacement we could come up with on short notice was "Rabid Serial Composers' Day." In commemoration, Boulez' Structures for two pianos:

What I really love about this piece is that the use of total serialism and the constant shifting of parameters means it is impossible to identify a misprint!

The other thing I love is that the Kontarsky brothers actually play it from memory, something one would have thought was also impossible.

Is it a coincidence that RSC Day falls on April 1? The day is also known as April Fool's Day in large parts of the world.

I can't believe they played it from memory -- is this a devious April Fools?

It's poisson d'avril in France! Yes, a little April Fool's humor. But I believe that the Kontarsky brothers did indeed play Structures from memory.
