He's a wonderful pianist. I had the go...Agreed! He's a wonderful pianist. I had the good fortune to hear his first recording (of the Beethoven sonatas) around the time it was released, so I've been able to follow him for each of his subsequent recordings. There's an intensity and concentration in his playing that is very absorbing. As you say: shades of Sokolov.<br /><br />It's worth listening to an interview with him too, if you can find one.
